The functionality is quite simple:

In the closed state, the gases are directed through the silencer; as soon as the valve is open, a portion passes through a continuous pipe, making the exhaust louder. The vacuum-controlled valve is closed in the vacuum area and opens as soon as the vacuum decreases or, in the case of turbo engines, moves into overpressure. A hose is laid from the intake manifold to the vacuum box of the valve or the valve is controlled via a remote control or switch. A control valve is installed in the hose for this purpose.
